What is AAC?
Discover the material behind modern construction — lightweight, sustainable, and precision-engineered.
Autoclaved Aerated Concrete
Autoclaved aerated concrete also known as AAC, is manufactured from water, cement, lime, silica sand, and a small amount of aluminium powder. The natural composition of these raw materials makes AAC panels sustainable and eco-friendly compared to traditional bricks.

Five natural ingredients
Nothing more, nothing less.
How is AAC made?
Similar to regular concrete, AAC is made from water, sand, lime, and cement. However, when making AAC a special expansion agent is added to the mix — here's the step-by-step journey.
Mixing & Moulding
The production of AAC begins by mixing raw materials into a slurry state and pouring them into large-scale moulds (a very large cake tin).
Aeration & Expansion
The addition of aluminium powder triggers a chemical reaction, creating numerous tiny and finely dispersed hydrogen air bubbles. The process causes the mixture to expand to nearly double of its original volume.
Cutting to Size
Once the mixture reaches to a semi-solid state (firm), it is wire-cut into precise panel sizes in a heated room.
Autoclave Curing
The sliced semi-solid material will be cured with high-pressure steam in autoclaves for up to 12 hours. During the curing process, high-pressure steam accelerates the hydration of the AAC panels, ensuring every Walsc panels delivered to the site is fully stable and ready to be installed.
Where Walsc AAC panels are used
Walsc AAC panel systems offer superior performance, high efficiency, and high-value solutions for both external and intertenancy walls, in 50mm and 75mm lightweight, and flooring systems in 75mm. Our AAC panels can be installed in a wide range of applications such as:
